Detailed itinerary of 10 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari
Day 1: Pick up and Hotel
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our company representative /driver who will transfer to your hotel in Kampala.
Dinner and overnight stay at Naguru Skyz Hotel for mid-range/Forest Cottages for budget/Sheraton Hotel for mid-range
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Kibale Forest National Park, the best chimpanzee trekking destination in Africa. Arrive in the park in the afternoon for lunch after check-in at your lodge, in the afternoon you will visit the crater lakes and Amabere caves before you proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Guest house for mid-range/Isunga lodge for budget/Kyaninga lodge for luxury on Full Board basis.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland Visit
After breakfast you will go for chimpanzee trekking with your packed food and water. Meet your guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee trekking, then enter the rainforest to start searching for the chimpanzees. The trek takes about 2-5 hours to find the chimpanzees while taking pictures.
After tracking you will refresh at the lodge, then go for a 2-3 hours nature walk then proceed to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a drive of approximately 3 hours from Fort Portal with en-route at the equator monument. Day 4: Lion tracking – game drive and Boat cruise
After breakfast, go for a lion tracking experience where you are guaranteed to spot the lions. Spot a good number of wildlife including elephants, buffaloes and all species of antelope.
After enjoying your lunch at the lodge, go for your boat trip along the Kazinga Channel for yet another wildlife. During the cruise o Kazinga Channel you will also see several birds including Uganda crested crane, hornbills among others.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, drive out of the park and head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – home to mountain gorillas via the Ishasha Sector. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga lodge/Ichumbi Gorilla lodge/Buhoma Haven lodge for mid-range/Mahogany Springs lodge/Nkuringo gorilla lodge for luxury
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Wake up early, have early breakfast and connect to the forest with your packed food and water. The briefing is done at the park headquarters about the rules and regulations to follow on the trek, the hike can take anything from 2to 8 hours. Once you reach gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand 6 meters away. Return to your relaxation or do a nature walk.
Day 7: Transfer to Musanze (Rwanda) – Community tour
Meet your driver and transferto Ruhengeri. It is a 3-4 hours and drive to drive to cross to Rwanda via Cyanika Border to connect to Musanze. Proceed to visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Thereafter, proceed to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at 5 Volcanoes Gorilla lodge for luxury/Da Vinci Gorilla lodge for mid-range/Hotel Muhabura for budget
Day 8: Golden monkey tracking – Community tour
After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing about the golden monkeys. Volcanoes National Park is also a home to the fascinating golden monkeys, the park shares borders with Virunga National Park in Congo. Also, it has the most scenic as it stands at 3 Volcanoes of Muhavura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo.
Later you will begin hiking over the volcanic terrains in search of the monkeys in the bamboo forest. It may take you 2-6 hours to find them depending on their location and you will be given 1 hour to spend with them while taking pictures before to return to your lodge.
Later in the afternoon, drive to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to have an experience of the local Rwandans culture, tradition and relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at 5 Volcanoes Gorilla lodge for luxury/Da Vinci Gorilla lodge for mid-range/Kinigi Guest House for budget
Day 9: Transfer to Kigali
After a leisure breakfast, meet your guide and transfer to Kigali with en-route of the rolling hills of Rwanda for picture. Have lunch in Kigali and then go for a Kigali City Tour, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and craft shops including Kimoronko Market. Day 10: Departure
Depending on your flight schedule, you will either explore more of Kigali before your flight check-in or wait at the hotel for your flight check-time to be dropped at Kigali Airport.
