Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: Visit Nairobi National Park and Giraffe Center

Start your safari with a pickup from your hotel in Nairobi, followed by a transfer to Nairobi National Park for a morning game drive, where you can enjoy watching wildlife against the scenic backdrop of the city’s skyscrapers. Some of the animals to see include leopards, lions, cape buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, and many more.

After the game drive, you will drive out of the park with a picnic lunch. Thereafter, embark on a visit to the Giraffe Center, where you will have a close viewing with the giraffes and a chance to feed them. Back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Have dinner and a night’s sleep at La Maison Royale Hotel.

DAY 2: Transfer to Masai Mara and Afternoon Game drive

After having a delicious breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve with a drive through the Great Rift Valley floor and Western escarpments formed centuries ago and due to the natural shifting of the earth’s tectonic plates. Arrive in the reserve in time for lunch; in the afternoon you will embark on a game viewing adventure through an open plain of the reserve.

During your game drive experience, you will sightsee a wide range of wildlife, including leopards, lions, cheetahs, wildebeest, elands, gazelles and others. You will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Note: Maasai Mara National Reserve is one of the safari destinations in the world that hosts the most spectacular dramas – the Great annual wildebeest migration happening between July and October. This annual movement attracts well over one million wildebeest and a hundred thousand zebras; gazelles migrate northward from the Serengeti to Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Alternatively, you can choose to visit Masai Village, where you will learn local dances and the culture of the Maasai Community. Back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 – 4: full day in Maasai Mara

After a delicious breakfast at the lodge, take your packed lunch and head to the reserve for a full day of game drive viewing, including both morning and afternoon drives. During the game drive, you will have an opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, elands, wildebeests, and gazelles, among others.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea at the lodge before heading out to the reserve for an early morning game drive for a great chance to watch the nocturnal and semi-nocturnal animals like leopards, cheetahs, lions, African wild dogs, and many more.

After the game-drive adventure, you will return to the lodge for breakfast, check out, and depart for Nairobi, where you will be dropped off either at the hotel or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
