The safari takes you from the shimmering waters and tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara, to the endless plains and majestic predators of the Serengeti and finally to the unique crater ecosystem of Ngorongoro, home to the Big five and an incredible array of wildlife.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park.
On the first day of the safari your guide from Focus East Africa Tours will pick you in Arusha and welcome about the 4 day Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari. After the briefing you will begin your journey to Lake Manyara National Park. Once you enter Lake Manyara National Park, the trip takes about two hours. A photographer’s dream come true, the park provides some of the world’s best game viewing. You will check in your lodge and be served with lunch. After lunch you will go for the afternoon game drive, many of Africa’s most well-known creatures are likely to be seen, with the tree-climbing lions being a special treat. These smug raptors nearly ask to be photographed as they sunbathe in acacia bushes. With a vast array of species on exhibit in the park, Lake Manyara is a birdwatcher’s paradise. The flamingo flocks, circling birds of prey, and the vibrantly colored lilac-breasted roller are sure to astonish even the most inexperienced visitor. After the experience you will go back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park.
On the second day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with breakfast. After a breakfast, you will drive to Serengeti National Park. As you go through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will get the opportunity to see the Ngorongoro Crater. Depending on the amount of game present on the way there are occasionally large concentrations of game on the southern plains this drive should take six hours or so. Depending on the time, you might get a chance to stop at the Ndutu area. You will travel to your camp or lodge, stopping along the way for a picnic lunch. You will arrive in the late afternoon and enjoy a game drive to spot the big five mammals, after the experience you will go back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Serengeti To Ngorongoro Area.
After breakfast, you will head out for an early morning game drive between 8:00 and 14:30 hours, bringing a packed lunch. After that, you’ll head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll spend the night and have dinner after taking in some wildlife viewing during the drive.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Tour.
You will witness wildlife by descending over 600 metres into the crater after an early breakfast. You will eat lunch at the crater’s base at lunchtime. One of the eight wonders of the world, Ngorongoro Crater serves as a vital haven for a wide range of species.
Most commonly seen are big bulls of elephants and the vulnerable species of black rhinos. Large herds of Thomson and grant gazelles, hippopotamus, African cape buffalos, prides of lions, hyenas, serval cats, golden and black-backed jackals, and around 400 different kinds of birds may all be found in the crater. Will subsequently be transferred either straight to the airport or back to Arusha town.
