5 days Maasai Mara and Lake Nakuru safari is an intriguing safari that offers you scenic and allowing for some superb wildlife viewing and popular boat safari and all in the midst of the beautiful landscapes. You will experience the massive bird watching especially spotting the flamingos and other bird species, visiting the rhino sanctuary inside Lake Nakuru National Park and other various attractions.
Day 1: Start of your Safari from Nairobi.
On the first day of the safari you will be picked up at the airport- Jomo Kenyatta International Airport upon arrival by your safari guide from Focus East Africa Tours. Your safari guide will pick you and welcome you and give you a briefing about the safari. After you will begin your journey to Maasai Mara National Reserve a popular wildlife destination in Kenya and Africa as well. Along the way you will have enroute stopover at the Great Rift Valley where you will enjoy incredible views of the rift valley escarpments, arrive in the reserve in time for lunch which you will have after checking into your lodge. In the afternoon you will go for a game drive in search for animals such as the incredible big five mammals like lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes and rhinos. You will as well sight other animal species like cheetahs, wildebeests among others without forgetting bird species in the beautiful landscape. In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 and 3: Full day in Maasai Mara.
On the 2nd of the safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast. Spend 2 full days of the safari in the endless plains of Maasai Mara National reserve with morning and afternoon game drives with picnic lunch or lunch at your lodge. On optional you can also visit the Masai Village for a cultural experience.
Full day game drives in Masai Mara National Reserve is an opportunity for you to discover the endless plains of the reserve and know why Masai Mara is a very popular African wildlife safari destination. You will spot the big five mammals like lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos and leopards and among many others without forgetting the bird species.
Masai Mara national reserve and its amazing ecosystem supports millions of animals including zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, impalas, elands, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, hartebeests, lions, waterbucks and several species of gazelles and many birds which you will enjoy spotting during the game drives.
If you are seeking to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, the best time to visit Masai Mara is between July and October, you will spot 2 million wildebeests, gazelles and zebras migrating from Serengeti plains in search for water and fresh pasture.
On your visit to the Masai village, you will have experience their fascinating culture and tradition activities including livestock rearing, be entertained by local dances and drama, and interact with the locals among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru.
On the 4th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with a delicious breakfast, after breakfast you will checkout and begin your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. Along the journey you will spot the various landscape that offers you wonderful views.
Upon your arrival you will check in the lodge and be served with lunch. After lunch you will go for late afternoon boat cruise on Lake Nakuru as you are relaxing and scenic experience. You will spot the various bird species during the cruising like flamingos, pelicans, eagles and among others. After the experience you will return back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Morning game drive and Departure.
On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with breakfast, after breakfast you will meet your safari guide and go for morning game drive. You will sight the park’s incredible animal species like giraffes, rhinos, lions, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, baboons and among many others and watch other bird species like eagles, storks, vultures and many others. You can as well visit the Lake’s famous flamingos and rhino sanctuary. After the experience you will go back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will check out from lodge and start your journey to Nairobi which takes 3 to 4 hours, once you arrive you will be dropped either at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for next flight back home or you will dropped to your hotel in Nairobi.
