Detailed itinerary of the safari 

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kibale national park 

On the 1st day of the safari you will be picked from Entebbe international airport upon arrival, you will meet your safari driver who will give you a short briefing and then embark on a drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. On your way you will have an en-route launch in Mubende and when you arrive in the park in the evening you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: chimpanzee tracking 

On the 2nd day of the safari you will wake up very early for breakfast and then transfer to the park for chimpanzee tracking experience, before heading on the tracking you will under briefing in which rules and regulations to follow on this experience will be read to you. Then you will head into the forests in search for the chimpanzees, as you walk through the forests you will enjoy sights of birds and other primates living in the forests of Kibale. When you find the gorillas you will be amazed by the beautiful chimpanzees playing on top of the trees, picking fruits and many more. After the activity you trek back to the park headquarters then head to your lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a guided nature walk in Bigodi swamp sanctuary. On the nature walk you will enjoy views of birds such as great blue turaco, papyrus gonolek and many other birds. in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park 

On the 3rd day of the safari you will have morning breakfast, checkout of your lodge and then set off on 7-8 hours drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park a world’s renown home for mountain gorillas, on your way you will drive through ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park where you can get an opportunity to spit tree climbing lions. On your way you will en-route lunch and when you reach ion the park you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: mountain gorilla trekking experience 

On the 4th day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning and head to the park’s headquarters for registration and briefing experience, once at the park’s headquarters dos and don’ts on this experience will be read to you by a ranger. At the headquarters you will also be assigned a gorilla group to trek and hire a porter to assist you, with your packed lunch you will head into the forests in search for mountain gorillas. Looking for mountain gorilla takes about 4-5 hours and when you find them you are allowed to stay in the presence of mountain gorillas for 1 hour taking pictures and observing the behavior of mountain gorillas. You will also spot many birds and other primates, later you will head back to the park’s headquarters for your trekking permit, then head back to your lodge. In the afternoon you will checkout of your lodge and embark on your drive heading to Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Uganda comprising of numerous islands. When you arrive at the lake you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: transfer back to Kampala 

On the 5th and last day of the safari you will have early morning breakfast and head to the lake for a canoeing experience, on this experience you will enjoy the calm waters of the lakes, visit various islands in the lake such as Punishment Island and enjoy sights of many birds. From the lake you will go back to your lodge, pack up and embark on your drive back to Kampala. On your way, you will have en-route lunch and when you reach in Kampala you will be dropped off either at your residence hotel or at Entebbe international airport.
