DETAILED ITINERARY OF 9 DAYS KENYA WILDLIFE AND HISTORICAL SITES SAFARI

Day 1: arrival in the morning and visit Shimoni Slavery Museum and Fort Jesus

On arrival at Moi International Airport, you will be picked by our safari driver guide and head for a a visit to Shimoni Slavery Museum to get a deeper insight in the history of slavery and trafficking on the Swahili Coast. if you still have time, you will also visit Fort Jesus a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Portuguese in 1593-1596 and it is in a shape of a man. After the experience you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: transfer to Amboseli national park and afternoon game drive

Have early breakfast, checkout of your lodge and drive to Amboseli national park one of the most popular safari destinations in Kenya famed for large herds of elephants, the park is also known for its magnificent back drop of Mountain Kilimanjaro the tallest free standing Mountain in the world and the tallest mountain on the African continent.  Arrive in the park in time for lunch, then in afternoon go for a game drive on which you will enjoy seeing animals such as large herds of elephants with impressive tusks, lions, giraffes, wildebeests, warthogs, gazelles, African wild dogs, cheetahs among others. After the experience you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: morning game drive and transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Wake up early for a morning game drive searching for predators and early risers such as lions, leopards, African wild dogs among others, you will return to the lodge for breakfast, checkout and head to Ol Pejeta Conservancy for an encounter with the big five including the largest population of rhinos and chimpanzees. Arrive in time for lunch which you will have after checking into your lodge, in the afternoon you will go for a game drive sighting various species of animals such as cheetahs, lions, spotted hyenas, rhinos, and chimpanzees. After the experience you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Visit Lake Baringo via Lake Bogoria

Have early breakfast then leave your lodge and head for a drive to the Nyahururu Falls also known as Thomson Falls where you will enjoy the magnificent waters of the falls a also get great photography opportunities, these beautiful falls are shaped by the waters of the Ewaso Narok River and plunging iver 72 meters into a rift then spraying the dark forest below.

 Then proceed to visiting Lake Bogoria the new home to the flamingoes hosting a total of 2 million bird species and over 200 other bird species including pelican and goose. You will proceed to Lake Baringo situated in the far most north point of a chain of the small Rift Valley Lakes, this lake host over 1200 species of water birds and other animals such as hippos, crocodiles and monitor lizards among others. Retire at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: transfer to Lake Nakuru national park

After breakfast you will leave your lodge and drive through the Great Rift Valley heading to Lake Nakuru national park, on your way you will have a stopover for shopping of artifacts and crafts. Arrive in the park in time for lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon you will go for a game drive sighting animals such as black and white rhinos, leopards, buffaloes. Reedbucks, bushbucks, warthogs and visiting the shores of Lake Nakuru for sightings of over millions of flamingoes and pelicans among other birds. In the afternoon you will head back to the lodge for dinner and have an overnight.

Day 6: morning game drive and transfer to Maasai Mara

Have early morning breakfast and head to the park for an early morning game drive for an opportunity to see hippos, black and white rhinos, leopards, buffaloes, Rothschild and various bird species such as 450 bird species such as flamingoes, pelicans among others. After the experience you will exit the park and drive to Maasai Mara national reserve the more famous wildlife safari destination in Kenya famed for the great migration and a variety of wildlife living in the endless plains of the reserve.

Arrive in the reserve in time for lunch and in the afternoon you will go for an afternoon game drive for sightings of animals such as lions, leopards, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, African wild dogs among others. In the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: full day in Maasai Mara national reserve (hot air balloon and afternoon game drive)

Have early cup of coffee and you will be picked up by your safari guide and head to the hot air balloon point for a hot air balloon safari experience, you will have an opportunity to enjoy the balloons being inflated. Then climb into the balloon and ascend into the sky to enjoy the magnificent sunrise, during this experience you will be able to get eye’s view of animals such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras among others and the endless plains of Maasai Mara national reserve. When you land, you will have a champagne bush breakfast.

Then go for a game drive with picnic lunch, during the game drive lookout for various wildlife species such as lions, cheetahs, zebras leopards, gazelles, elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, spotted hyenas, African dogs among others. In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8:  transfer to Nairobi and visit the giraffe center and Snake Park

After breakfast at your lodge you will checkout and head to on a drive back to Nairobi, arrive in time for lunch which you will have at your lodge. In the afternoon you will go for a city tour visiting the Giraffe Center, the Snake Park and Stedmark Garden giving you a memorable Nairobi city experience. At the end of the end you will drive back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: departure

Have early morning breakfast at your hotel and go either for a short city tour or drive to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your flight back home.
