Amboseli park fees : Amboseli national park is a popular and scenic national park in Kenya located in the Kajiado County in the Kajiado South Constituency, this remarkable national park covers an area of 392 square kilometers and it is famous for the scenic backdrop of Mountain Kilimanjaro and many herds of elephants. Amboseli national park is managed by two bodies that are Kenya Wildlife Services and Olekejuado County Council together with the Masai community. These bodies are responsible for drafting all park fees which are charged to all activities, tourists and vehicles entering Amboseli national park for various reasons such as Kenya safari, research and business.

While drafting these fees some factors were based on and they include the status of the tourists, the statuses of the tourists are of 3 categories that is Citizens, residents, children, adult, student and non-residents as explained below.

Children – children are persons from 3 years and below the age of 18 years old

Adult – Adults are persons from the age of 18 and above

Student – students are individuals from a recognized secondary, government institution, private university aged up to23 years of age visiting the park with a purpose of learning and research in Amboseli national park. For students they are required to send a notice to KWS in a minimum of 2 weeks to the safari, student fees excludes students on personally organized safaris  to Amboseli national park

Citizens – citizens are individuals living in Kenya with valid National identity card or passport, this status also refers to individuals from East African Community Countries such as Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi with valid passports or IDs.

Residents – Residents are individuals of other nationalities living in Kenya and in possession of valid documents from the government of Kenya.

Non-residents – Non-residents are individuals from outside of Kenya and East African community countries.

Park entrance fees

As per rules and regulations of KWS (Kenya Wildlife Service) and park policies every tourist entering the park either for safari experience or education purposes has to pay a fee to access the park, the fee is referred to as park entrance fee and it is paid at various gates of Amboseli national park.  Park entrance fees are valid for only 24 hours.

Activity fees

Every Wildlife Kenya safari activity you wish to participate in as a tourist in Amboseli national park you are charged a fee which is paid before the start of the experience, payments at Kenya Wildlife Offices in the park either at the gate offices or at the headquarters.

Annual passes

Camping fees

Camping fees in Amboseli national park are charged basing on the category of the campsite of your choice, the park offers special campsite and public campsites which are open for all tourists of the park.

Vehicle and aircrafts fees

Vehicles and aircrafts entering and landing in Amboseli national park are charged a fee as drafted by Kenya Wildlife Services, these fees are charged according to the number of seats in a vehicle/ aircraft and the weight. These fees are as follows

  • Daily fees in Amboseli national park have a validity of 24 hours
  • In Amboseli national park mode of payment accepted include Mpesa, Visa Card, direct deposits to KWS bank accounts and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
